Dec 2 - Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, is the largest giving movement throughout the world. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Giving Tuesday is the perfect day for you to support our music ministry. Your gift will be used to help pay the fee for our worship music leaders each Sunday.

Nov 16 - Stewardship Sunday
Stewardship Sunday is November 16th. We invite you to bring your pledge card, and during the 11:00 a.m. service, join us in placing it on the alter as a tangible expression of our shared commitment to Cortland FUMC. After prayerful consideration, we hope you will commit to supporting your church for another year filled with growth, love, and community. We look forward to seeing you and sharing fellowship at a social gathering in the Fellowship Hall provided by the Finance Committee.

Nov 9 - Bones East Concert
On Sunday, November 9 at 1:00 p.m., the church will host a concert by Bones East. The concert will feature patriotic music in honor of Veterans Day, performed by an octet version of Bones East (8 of BE's 25+ trombones). . A reception will be held afterwards. Oct 25 - Lasagna Dinner
On Sunday, October 25 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. will host a Lasagna Dinner in the church fellowship hall. We will serve lasagna, salad and Italian bread. Cost: Adults $15, Children 5-12: $8, Under 5: Free. To download a printable PDF flyer, please visit the link below.
Nov 16 - Stewardship Sunday
Sunday, November 16, is Stewardship Sunday at Cortland First United Methodist Church. Later this month, you will receive a pledge card for 2026.
On Stewardship Sunday, we invite you to bring your pledge card and during the service join us in placing it on the alter as a tangible expression of our shared commitment to Cortland FUMC.

Spring Flower Sale
The Spring Flower Sale will be held in the church parking lot on Saturday May 17 from 9:00 until everything is sold. GERANIUMS, HANGING BASKETS, COMBINATION POTS, ANNUALS, HERBS, VEGETABLES.
In the event of inclement weather, the sale will be held indoors in the Fellowship Hall.

Easter Flowers
The Fellowship Outreach Committee will not be taking orders for Easter flowers this year. If you would like to bring in a plant, please feel free to do so. There will be a sheet in the Narthex if you would like to dedicate the plant in honor of someone. Please sign up prior to Saturday, April 19th.

Church Land Sold
I am happy to report that the closing for the sale of the 1.73 acres of church land located on Route 222 in Cortland was completed on March 26.
The profit from the sale was deposited in a Trustee account. The funds have been set aside to cover future costs for special projects: parking lot paving, boiler system maintenance, and major church operating expenses.
Specific details of the transaction are available for review in the church office.
